The article presents a rare clinical case of examination and treatment of a patient with stage IIIA lung squamous cell carcinoma. After neoadjuvant chemotherapy using the standard regimen of paclitaxel-carboplatin (6 injections), a complete pathomorphological response was achieved based on the results of histological and immunohistochemical examination of the postoperative material. During 12 months of follow-up, no recurrences were observed. In light of the results obtained, the issue of the potential benefits of omitting the surgical treatment stage after achieving a complete pathomorphological response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy is raised. Further prospective studies are needed to confirm these conclusions.
