This study investigates the effectiveness of an e-mental mapping training program in enhancing academic performance and motivating academic achievement among students with learning difficulties (SwLDs). A quasi-experimental research approach was implemented through the preparation of a training program based on e-mental maps to teach the fifth module of the Arabic subject to sixty fourth-grade SwLDs enrolled in the resources rooms program of four public schools in Amman. Participants were distributed into experimental and control groups (thirty each). The twenty-one-item Academic Achievement Motivation Scale was used to measure academic ambition, perseverance, and sense of academic responsibility. The experimental group exhibited statistically significant improvements in academic performance and academic motivation. The results thus confirmed the effectiveness of e-mental maps concerning the “An-Nujum” (Star) unit of the Arabic language curriculum in terms of listening, speaking, reading, reading appreciation and analysis, writing, and linguistic construction. Consequently, it is recommended to include the e-mapping strategy to teach Arabic to people with learning difficulties in an e-learning environment. Female teachers’ workshops should be held to raise awareness of the importance of this strategy.
