Municipal Solid Waste Management (MSWM) has emerged as a critical challenge for rapidly urbanizing regions in India. This study assesses the efficiency and regularity of municipal solid waste collection services at the household level in Tirupattur Urban Region. Using primary data collected from households through a structured questionnaire, the study examines waste disposal practices, availability of municipal collection services, frequency of garbage van visits, adherence to daily collection schedules, and the condition of public bins. The findings reveal variations in service regularity and infrastructure maintenance, which directly influence environmental hygiene and public health outcomes. While door-to-door collection services are available in most areas, inconsistencies in schedule adherence and inadequate maintenance of public bins remain concerns. The study highlights the need for improved monitoring mechanisms and strengthened municipal accountability to enhance service efficiency and sustainable urban sanitation management.
