Abstract Electives are brief courses conducted as short postings under the competency-based medical education curriculum that give undergraduate medical students the opportunity to study topics outside of the core curriculum. They are mandated by the National Medical Commission, India, as an essential component of comprehensive medical education. Out of the many electives, pharmacovigilance stands out among the others as a critical elective, including topics such as medication safety, causality evaluation, monitoring, adverse drug reaction diagnosis, and patient well-being. The current report aims to highlight the experience and learning outcomes of undergraduate medical students from a session of a 15-day Pharmacovigilance elective conducted in the month of January 2025 at a western medical school in India.
