This document presents a synthesis of the state of physical cosmology as of late 2025 and early 2026. We review observational results from Stage IV programs (DESI, DES, Euclid) and assess their implications for the standard ΛCDM model, with emphasis on constraints on the dark‑energy equation of state and on the status of the H₀ and S₈ tensions. We summarize the main observational systematics and dataset‑combination dependencies underlying current claims of evolving w(z), and we outline theoretically motivated extensions—including dynamical dark energy, early‑time solutions that rescale the sound horizon, and modified‑gravity scenarios—together with near‑term tests using forthcoming full‑shape and weak‑lensing measurements.
