The importance of Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces (RISes) for wireless communications purposes has increased significantly in recent years. The deployment of RISes enables modification of signal propagation in the operational environment. However, dynamic and remote control of these boards is needed. The ContRIS is an open-source framework designed for flexible control of numerous RISes with deterministic synchronization, low coordination overhead, and high configuration consistency. The system’s user is able to monitor and to modify the state of RISes in real time. Thus, the framework can be foundation for future wireless experiments, where distributed RISes are managed by the software automatically.
