Introduction: Ingestion of foreign bodies is a common complaint of children in emergency unit and can cause several complications, especially in case of sharp and pointed foreign bodies. Most of the foreign bodies will pass uneventfully through intestinal tract. Case presentation: Female child with complaint of ingestion of a 5-cm needle without abdominal pain or nausea or vomiting and normal abdominal examination. Abdominal radiologic studies performed and conservative therapy was utilized. Discussion: Few studies have described ingestion of sharp foreign bodies. Early diagnosis and endoscopic removal have reduced the incidence of further complications and surgical removal in symptomatic patients can be considered. Conservative management is the main choice for asymptomatic patients Conclusion: The management of sharp foreign body ingestion is still debated, although few studies have described successful conservative management
