Deliverable 2.1 (D2.1) provides basic baseline information on eight selected CIRAWA regions (islands/districts/zones/regions) of four West African countries: Cape Verde, Ghana, Senegal and The Gambia. The eight regions have been briefly profiled. The two in Cape Verde are islands, those in Ghana are districts, those in Senegal are agroecological zones and those in The Gambia are regions. The main purpose of D2.1 is to present a summary of farmers’ and other stakeholders’ engagement activities which were meant to introduce CIRAWA and its intended activities as well as the concept of agroecology to the people. The report (D2.1) is also to present what the farmers and other stakeholders consider as their requirements and needs in relation to food production as well as indicators that can be used to assess envisaged interventions.
