Modernization and Academic Performance: A Study on the Undergraduate Students of Tinsukia District

The prime objective of the study was to reveal the status of modernization and academic performance of undergraduate students in Tinsukia district of Assam, India, along with their correlation. It also examined the differences between modernization and academic performance of respondents with respect to their gender and fields of study. Data was collected using the Modernization Scale from a sample of 120 undergraduate students selected randomly from three colleges. Statistical techniques like Mean, SD, Pearsons’s product-moment r and t-test were used for data analysis. Result of the study revealed no significant correlation between modernization and academic performance.
