The “Kandhamal martyrs” are bold Jesus-witnesses with their rock-like faith. They testify to the good news of Jesus Christ with the “pouring out of blood.” Their firm faith, courageous response in persecution, reconciling forgiveness, and communitarian witness make them paradigms of Gospel-praxis. Their martyria resonates that of the early Christians. As Spirit-filled and bold witnesses of Jesus Christ for our times, they inspire us to preach the Gospel courageously in faithful imitation of the Master (cf. Lk 6:40)
