An alternative RNA World model is presented that uses simpler paired copiers rather than a truly self-replicating molecule, open collectives with horizontal sharing to minimize starting constraints and dispersed development of useful functions, joiner process to retain ribozymes on an RNA memory molecule, acquisition of new functions by either constrained variations around existing motifs or retaining sequences developed randomly independent of the collectives, evolution of collectives to creating the first cells, processes to allow for multiple, distinct universal progenitors.
