Introduction Excess screen-based behavior is closely associated with emotional/behavioral problems in children; however, the mechanisms underlying this association have not been elucidated. Chronotype, which refers to circadian preference, may be a potential mediator that links the association between screen time and emotional/behavioral problems. This study aimed to examine whether chronotype can mediate the associations between screen time and emotional/behavioral problems in children using a mediation analysis.
