Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries are one of the most common injuries in sports. The semitendinosus (ST) tendon is a popular choice for autografts in ACL reconstruction. Compared to the use of the patellar and quadriceps tendons, the use of the ST tendon as an autograft can reduce the loss of knee extensor strength induced by ACL reconstruction surgery but results in a loss of knee flexor strength.
Kimura et al. (Thu,) studied this question.
