Green chemistry makes use of renewable resources, significantly reduces waste, and avoids the use of poisonous and hazardous ingredients as well as solvents while creating chemical products. In the synthesis of organic compounds, microwave and electromagnetic radiation are frequently utilized as heating sources. In the microwave-assisted synthesis, the processes observed include ionic conduction and dipolar polarization. Microwave heating is a quick, targeted, and environmentally responsible technique. This method's benefits have led to its increased adoption. It takes longer to use the traditional heating procedure. Chemical synthesis is increasingly being done using the microwave aided synthesis technique. The numerous uses of microwave-assisted synthesis in organic and inorganic synthesis, as well as in the process of drug development and discovery, are also highlighted in the article.
