The clinical practice guidelines (CPG) have been brought out for more than two decades now, and serve as important resources for management of various psychiatric disorders in the Indian context. This year, the Clinical Practice Guidelines Committee led by Dr. Adarsh Tripathi as Chairperson took upon the daunting yet useful, and long-awaited task of updating the CPG on four major psychiatric disorders in the Indian context: schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depressive disorder, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. The task was completed efficiently within the stipulated time by four separate teams of experts in their respective fields. This is being brought out as a theme issue titled, “Clinical Practice Guidelines: 2025 update.” This has come out as a very useful document that I am sure would be of immense help to clinicians across the country.
