In the north of the Iberian Peninsula, there are extensiveáreas where the atlantic element is well represented. Theseáreas correspond mainly to the coast and surroundingsfrom western Pyrenees to northern Portugal, and arecomprised in the atlantic domain sensu Dupont (1962).Nevertheless, in the Mediterranean Iberia there aredisjunct localities rich in oceanic and even hyperatlanticspecies. The most relevant are found in the S.W. of Portugal and Campo de Gibraltar at the extreme south of Spain.
