Abstract

題名「Über die Autooxydation von Natriumhypophosphit」（1934年発行）1）の論文がある．その論文の要旨の邦訳と推察される無化化学全書（1965年発行）2）には「次亜リン酸ナトリウム水溶液中に酸素またはオゾンを吹き込むと2ないし4時間の反応誘導期を経てのちに急激な吸収が行われ，亜リン酸，オルトリン酸のほかにペルオキソ酸が生じる．」という記載がある．この文章中の「吸収」は酸素またはオゾンの吸収を意味することから，原始地球での空気による原子や分子の酸素化の化学反応を感じさせられる．さて，論文1）以降，次亜リン酸イオン（PH2O2−）と酸素（O2）の反応の研究にはほとんど進展がなく，いわば「Über die Autooxydation（自動酸化について）」の壁を脱しなかった．その反応の機構を始めて解明したのは著者らの論文3）〜6）だったと考えられるので，その反応の「自触媒反応とは何か（副題）」と併せて，この反応の意義と研究の更なる展望などを総合的に論考・論述した．
