The construction of the new liberal arts poses a new challenge for the construction of university professional teaching materials system. This challenge comes from the tension between the rapid change of university knowledge demand system and the inertia of knowledge supply system. This tension requires tight networked thinking connecting supply and demand. This paper introduces knowledge hyper-network thinking to support the construction of a new liberal arts major textbook system. The construction of the new liberal arts major textbook system mainly includes: a high-quality construction community, discipline-integrated textbook contents, innovative textbook forms, and optimal use of textbooks. It forms a "hub" set between the demand and supply of university knowledge, and forms a teaching material system that adapts to social development and meets the needs of new liberal arts education.
