In the area of information and communication technologies (ICT), technology enhanced learning (TEL) is all around us. Information is accessible for everyone through the different software platforms, but the challenge is to find the data that can enhance the competences, as well as improve the education. Having in mind rapid changes that takes place in the globalising world, technology enhanced learning systems have to support the sustainable education, as the concept that involves active academic participation to create economic, social and environmental programs improving life standards, generating empowerment and respecting interdependence. This paper presents both advantages and disadvantages of current TEL systems, suggesting the approaches for improving them in order to create sustainable education that will meet the demands of the future world.
