Background: Manasa Prakriti (psychological personality traits) framework in Ayurveda provides a unique perspective on psychological constitution through the principles of Triguna ( Satva, Rajas, and Tamas ). Despite its significance, the lack of a standardized tool has restricted its integration into contemporary clinical and research paradigms. Aim and objective: To develop and scientifically validate a psychometric tool for the assessment of Manasa Prakriti (psychological personality traits). Materials and methods: The Manasa Prakriti tool (MPT) is a systematic, multiphased research study, employing a sequential exploratory study design which integrates qualitative and quantitative methodologies, with due institutional ethics committee approval. The research comprises two phases: tool development (conceptualization, variable pooling, operationalization, item generation, and archetypical renaming) and its subsequent validation. Results: The development process yielded a 70-item tool with high content validity indices, including Item-level Content Validity Index ranging from 0.9 to 1 and Scale-Level Content Validity Index averaging 0.95. Archetypical renaming and bilingual adaptation enhanced cultural relevance and accessibility. Conclusion: The MPT bridges traditional Ayurveda principles and contemporary psychological assessment. This article sets the foundation for subsequent validation phases to establish its empirical reliability and construct validity.
