Caloric Restriction and Time-Restricted Eating in Older Adults with Overweight or Obesity: The Health, Aging, and Later-Life Outcomes Pilot Study
Key Points
This research investigates the effects of caloric restriction and time-restricted eating on health in older adults with obesity.
Evaluated feasibility of caloric restriction (CR) and time-restricted eating (TRE) interventions.
Included older adults with overweight or obesity.
Monitored health status over a 9-month period.
CR and TRE interventions were feasible for participants.
Significant improvements in health status were observed after 9 months.
Participants did not meet the predetermined caloric restriction targets.
Abstract
HALLO-P showed that the CR and TRE interventions were feasible and associated with improvements in health status over 9 months despite not achieving the target CR.
