This cooperation overcame a painful history of violence and oppression involving Poland and Ukraine. Yet there are signs that Polish support, both on the popular and the elite levels, is eroding. Some politicians are now articulating outright opposition to Ukrainian immigration to Poland and foreign aid, weaponizing the history of Polish–Ukrainian relations to undermine the post-2022 consensus.
