Abstract The objective of this research is to develop ecologically justified methods for using domestic wastewater for the irrigation of tree plantations. To achieve this objective, in the city of Kyzylorda (Republic of Kazakhstan) in 2023, the composition of domestic wastewater was analyzed, optimal purification technologies were determined, and the effects of wastewater irrigation on the growth and development of hybrid poplars were evaluated. The study revealed that domestic wastewater, following mechanical purification and secondary treatment in sedimentation tanks, is of satisfactory quality and can be used for irrigation (SanPiN 2.1.4.1074-01). The results of the study indicate that it offers specific methods and technologies for the use of domestic wastewater for tree irrigation, which can be practically applied in agriculture and forestry. This approach addresses water scarcity issues, reduces irrigation costs, and simultaneously improves the environmental condition by reusing water resources.
