ABSTRACT Electronics traditionally used resistors, capacitors, and inductors. Professor Chua introduced the memristor, completing the circuit by linking charge to magnetic flux. This ‘memory resistor’ adapts its resistance based on past voltage, showing promise for radiation sensing applications due to its sensitivity and memory. The study of memristive‐based sensors has quickly become a promising subject during the last decade. The development of innovative sensor concepts is highlighted in this review paper; some concepts have been built, produced, and shown, while others have been simulated. Numerous memristive conductivity‐based sensing techniques have been put forth; some have been applied to several sensor designs, while others have only been proven once. The paper outlines the field's history over the past ten years, critically evaluates the fundamental concepts and applications, reviews significant turning points, and offers in‐depth insights into various sensor kinds.
