ABSTRACT Diabetic striatopathy (DS) is a rare complication of uncontrolled diabetes mellitus (DM), primarily affecting elderly patients and characterized by choreiform movements with basal ganglia imaging abnormalities. It has a good prognosis and completely resolves with optimal glucose control meeting individualized glycemic goals with a basal‐bolus insulin regimen and sometimes adjunctive anti‐chorea medications.
