Abstract: Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP) is an uncommon cutaneous soft-tissue sarcoma that originates from dermal fibroblasts and is characterized by slow but persistent local growth. Despite its relatively low metastatic potential, the tumor has aggressive local behaviour, with extension into subcutaneous tissue and possible invasion of fascia, muscle, and even osseous structures. Diagnosis can be challenging due to its indolent course and nonspecific early appearance, which often leads to clinical misidentification and delayed biopsy. This delay may permit extensive local infiltration before definitive treatment is initiated. Here, we report the rare case of plaque-type DFSP over the anterior chest wall of a female patient with CD34 positivity, cured with surgical excision.
