ABSTRACT An efficient 1,6‐conjugate addition reaction of para ‐Quinone methides and cyano acetylpiperidine or cyanoacetylmorpholine to form a C─C bond for the synthesis of 3,3‐diaryl‐2‐(piperidine‐1‐carbonyl)propanenitrile and 3,3‐diaryl‐2‐(morpholine‐4‐carbonyl) propanenitrile derivatives was reported in the presence of Et 3 N as a catalyst. This protocol features advantages such as broad substrate scopes, good tolerance of functional groups, and excellent yields.
