Background Digital health technologies can support the management of chronic conditions. However, further studies are needed to fully understand the phenomenon of digital health literacy, especially among individuals with chronic diseases. For nurses to intervene accurately, concepts must have a clear and precise definition. In addition, it is essential to understand how this concept is evolving, particularly considering the transformations in access to health information. Objective To analyze, in the scientific literature, the concept of digital health literacy in patients with chronic diseases according to the method proposed by Rodgers. Methods Concept analysis based on the model proposed by Rodgers, operationalized through a scoping review. The databases BDENF, LILACS, MEDLINE/PubMed, ScienceDirect, Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar were used to identify relevant studies. A manual search of the reference lists of the selected sources from the previous phases was also conducted. Studies were selected based on predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results With a sample of 54 studies, the scoping review enabled a broad analysis of the concept. Identified antecedents included sociodemographic factors, geographic region, access to the internet and digital devices, frequency of internet use, a positive attitude toward online resources, and a chronic disease diagnosis. The attributes comprised competencies in using digital technologies; the ability to search for online health information; the evaluation of the reliability and quality of health information; and the application of health information in decision‐making. Consequences included effective chronic disease management, patient empowerment for informed decision‐making, and the adoption of a health‐promoting lifestyle. Conclusion The findings offer theoretical and practical contributions to nursing, including the structuring of standardized language and the formulation of public policies aimed at digital equity in the care of people with chronic conditions, thereby strengthening digital nursing as a strategy to expand access and enhance the quality of care.
