Previous studies have supported the claim that performing prosocial behavior can boost the well-being of givers (Cregg Curry et al. 2018), while these research has primarily focused on general prosocial behavior, (such as kindness, Hui et al., 2020).Furthermore, existing studies mostly adopted Self-Determination Theory (SDT) to explain why engaging in prosocial behavior increase the actor's well-being, emphasizing the fulfillment of basic psychological needs. However, recent evidence suggests that the link from prosocial behavior to well-being may vary for different type of prosocial behavior (Jiang et al., 2018; Dunn et al,, 2014).Therefore, The aim of the present study is to specify the effects of different types of prosocial behavior on well-being, and examine whether different types of prosocial behavior through different psychology need to enhance well-being.
