Tenofovir Alafenamide vs. Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate in Lowering the Risk of HCC Development in Patients With CHB
Key Points
This research aims to compare the effectiveness of tenofovir alafenamide and tenofovir disoproxil fumarate in reducing the hazard of hepatocellular carcinoma in patients with chronic hepatitis B.
Comparative analysis of TAF and TDF use among patients with chronic hepatitis B.
Assessment of HCC hazard associated with each treatment over time.
TAF use is linked to a 71% reduction in HCC hazard compared to TDF.
Results indicate TAF may be a more effective option in lowering HCC risk.
Abstract
Compared with TDF, TAF use was associated with an approximately 71% reduction in HCC hazard. Larger cohorts with longer follow-up are warranted to corroborate these observations.
