Abstract Substance abuse among youth generation has emerged as a significant social and health concern leading to deteriorated psychological, physical and moral well-being. Swami Vivekananda’s philosophy, highlighting spiritual awakening, self- discipline and moral responsibility, provides substantial methods to resolve this issue. This paper explains the relevance of Swami Vivekananda’s teachings in reducing drug addiction and promoting a purpose-driven existence among young individuals. By integrating his thoughts on self- realization, practice of Yoga and service to society we propose a holistic approach to combating substance abuse.
