Abstract Technological innovation in the shipping sector is a constant process, and the introduction of Maritime Autonomous Surface Ships (MASS) is a significant milestone. The idea of building MASS has already received global interest, especially from the International Maritime Organisation. Bangladesh plays a vital role in international shipping and is one of the leading countries in ship recycling and personnel contributions. As a result, this discussion highlights the difficulties Bangladesh would encounter in implementing the law of the sea's jurisdiction over MASS as a coastline, port, and flag state. Important to this conversation are the International Maritime Organisation's function as a global shipping regulator and the effects of its mandate in resolving these issues. As a state party to UNCLOS, Bangladesh should take these issues into account while implementing new regulations and technology for MASS operations, according to the discussion's conclusion.
