AbstractThis research delves into the pharmaceutical and health applications of extracts from Artocarpus heterophyllus (Jackfruit) seeds. Employing a comprehensive approach of molecular docking simulations and experimental assays, this study examines the binding potential, antioxidant activity, and cytotoxic effects of the extracts. The successful validation of the docking protocol ensures reliability. Notably, Kaempferol D exhibits high docking scores, indicating promise as a human tubulin inhibitor. Analysis of phenolic and flavonoid content reveals their abundance, particularly in the n-hexane extract. These compounds exhibit antioxidant properties, suggesting the extracts as natural antioxidant sources. Validation through the DPPH radical scavenging assay confirms antioxidant potential in both ethanol and n-hexane extracts. Furthermore, cytotoxicity assessment using the MTT assay highlights the antiproliferative effects of the n-hexane extract on U87 (MG) cells. This study underscores the promising qualities of Artocarpus heterophyllus seeds and their potential in health and medicine, proposing them as a valuable source for innovative anticancer therapies and combating oxidative stress-related ailments. Incorporating these seeds into diets or therapeutic regimens could advance strategies for health promotion and disease prevention.
