The principle of least action is one of those rare principles that is interestingly independent of the scale of the system. It can be leveraged to find out the equation of motion of the system from quantum to cosmological scale. We thus find it interesting and instructive to understand the principle of least action by using it to derive the general equation of motions for different theories.
