Abstract Yoga emphasizes strengthening the body’s inherent defense mechanisms rather than merely addressing isolated symptoms or disorders. It is regarded as one of India’s most comprehensive and effective traditional systems for managing physical, mental, and emotional challenges. Because yoga is inexpensive, easy to practice, self-directed, and associated with minimal side effects, it is particularly beneficial for women. Several forms of yoga are practiced today, including Iyengar yoga, Hatha yoga, mindfulness-based yoga, integrative yoga, and gentle yoga. This article examines the role of yoga in addressing women-specific health concerns such as premenstrual syndrome, perinatal mental health challenges, chronic pain, and menopausal symptoms. Modern women often face numerous physical and psychological challenges due to sedentary lifestyles, inadequate nutrition, and insufficient attention to personal health. Increasing work demands, time constraints, and stressful environments further contribute to mental fatigue and emotional strain. Today’s women perform multiple roles beyond traditional family responsibilities, actively participating in social, economic, and political decision-making. As a dynamic and influential segment of society, women require simple yet effective strategies to manage stress and anxiety. Yoga serves as a valuable tool in achieving balance, resilience, and overall well-being across all stages of a woman’s life. Regular practice of yogic postures improves flexibility, circulation, and nervous system function, promotes emotional regulation, reduces stress, and induces deep relaxation.
