Abstract Nursing informatics is essential for enhancing healthcare efficiency. Yet, many hospitals in India still depend on manual methods for managing staff and operations.This method is time-consuming and error-prone, emphasizing the need for affordable, scalable digital solutions specifically designed for the Indian healthcare environment. Digital tools have been explored globally, but researchers and practitioners lack practical, low-cost solutions tailored for the Indian clinical setting. Specifically, there is limited evidence on implementing and integrating familiar productivity tools like Google Workspace within Indian hospital environments to streamline nursing operations. This study aims to develop, test, and implement a Google Workspace-based nursing informatics tool to address this gap, facilitating efficient nursing management with minimal resource investment. The informatics tool was developed by a reviewer and initially tested in five departments of a tertiary care hospital. After refining the tool based on this pilot testing, it was expanded hospital-wide, serving a capacity of 960 beds and over 1,300 nurses. The implementation demonstrated improved workflow efficiency. A user interface sample and hyperlink are provided for customization. This innovative effort in India presents a cost-effective method to modernize nursing management, addressing a significant gap in practical nursing informatics solutions within Indian healthcare.
