ABSTRACT A photo‐promoted phosphorylation of quinoxalin‐2(1 H )‐one and diarylphosphine oxide with rose bengal as a photocatalyst has been developed. The reactions proceeded in good to excellent yields. Mechanistic investigations suggest that both the radical pathway and ionic pathway may exist simultaneously for the formation of product 3 .
