This study aims to present a thorough overview of the body of research on generational cohorts and how they affect employee performance. This study uses a dataset of 118 articles from the Scopus database to conduct a bibliometric analysis. Scientific mapping and performance analysis are carried out using VOS viewer and the Bibliometrix R package. The publication trend, important authors, journals, and most influential articles are displayed by performance analysis. A bibliographic coupling network of documents is used for science mapping to identify the field's intellectual framework. The five main themes identified in this review are: generational perspectives on workplace dynamics and professional development, Generation Z in the workforce - motivation, performance, and organisational alignment, cognitive performance and development across lifespan and genetics, Generation Y and the role of workplace fun in shaping employee experiences, generational perspectives on psychological contracts and workplace fit. Future research agendas are also highlighted in the paper with these research themes. The bibliometric review of leading contributors in this paper enhances our understanding of generational cohorts and their effect on employee performance.
