Women entrepreneurship has become an important contributor to economic development, employment generation, and social empowerment. The food industry, in particular, offers significant opportunities for women due to its accessibility, flexibility, and growing market demand. In Coimbatore city, many women are actively engaged in food-related enterprises such as catering services, bakeries, home-based food production, and small-scale food processing units. The research focuses on examining internal factors such as motivation, educational background, business experience, and managerial skills, as well as external factors including family support, access to finance, government assistance, market competition, and networking opportunities. The findings of the study are expected to identify key determinants of entrepreneurial success and highlight the major challenges faced by women in the food industry. The study will provide useful insights and recommendations for policymakers, financial institutions, and support organizations to strengthen women-led enterprises and promote sustainable growth in the food sector.
