Otoplasty is a reconstructive and aesthetic surgical procedure that aims to correct auricular deformities. Various techniques exist for identifying the cartilage site for suture placement. Guide sutures simulate the effect of permanent sutures in prominent ears to reshape the antihelix, providing an intraoperative assessment of the final auricular contour and facilitating the placement of Mustardé sutures. This technical report describes the use of guide sutures to temporarily hold the antihelix in a corrected position before placing definitive Mustardé sutures. Determining the precise suture site is a critical step, as misplaced sutures can compromise the outcome. Our technique offers a practical solution during otoplasty, potentially reducing operative time, shortening the learning curve for novice surgeons, and improving surgical success.
