Homoligand complex (PPh₄Zn (btdt) ₂) 1 (btdt2– = 2, 1, 3-benzothiadiazole-5, 6-dithiolate) is synthesized for the first time. By the interaction of 1 with YCp₂^*BPh₄ heterometallic complex Zn (YCp₂^*) ₂ (-btdt) ₂ 2 is obtained. The structures of crystalline phases 1 and 2⋅2C7H8 are determined by the single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. In both cases, the zinc atom has the tetrahedral environment composed of sulfur atoms of the dithiolate ligands. In complex 2, these sulfur atoms are additionally coordinated to two yttrium atoms. It is the first example of complexes with the Y–S–Zn fragment. The absorption spectra of the solid phase of compound 1 (recalculated from the diffuse reflectance spectra) and of 1 in the tetrahydrofuran solution demonstrate a broad longwave band in the range of 350-500 nm.
