This repository contains the preprint of Generative Inferential Frame Theory—Integrative Transducer Model (GIFT-ITM), a theoretical framework proposing a formal information-geometric account of phenomenal consciousness. The model treats consciousness as a condition of coupling between a biological homeostatic control system and a structured belief manifold defined by the Fisher Information Metric. The theory introduces the Homeostatic Servo-Transducer (HST), a biological controller that maintains adaptive coupling to a five-dimensional belief manifold ℳ parameterised by world-inference coordinates (H, S, R), a temporal coordinate (T), and a body-inference precision coordinate (Φᵥₒᵢ). The Fisher Information Metric, whose canonical status follows from the Nikolai Čencov–Ay information-geometric theorem, defines the Riemannian structure of this manifold. Within this framework, phenomenal consciousness corresponds to a state of impedance matching between biological inference processes and the geometry of ℳ. The manuscript derives modified inferential field equations from a variational action resembling Carl Brans–Robert H. Dicke scalar-tensor coupling, yielding curvature relations linking coupling precision to biological free-energy density. The work integrates ideas from Active Inference, information geometry, and dynamical systems theory to produce a falsifiable framework with explicit experimental predictions, including a phase-transition model of depersonalisation–derealisation disorder.
