In what is believed to be the first network meta‐analysis that directly compares all of the main approaches to antidepressant deprescribing, slow tapering with psychological support was found comparably effective to antidepressant continuation in preventing depressive relapse. Rapid discontinuation strategies fared poorly in the analysis. Results of the meta‐analysis were published in the January 2026 issue of Lancet Psychiatry .
