This study explores the dynamics of multinational enterprises and Nigerian development, using Unilever as a case study from 2020 to 2025. It highlights issues such as trade imbalances that impact farmers, the export of raw materials that hinder industrialization, and environmental concerns like deforestation. Grounded in Dependency Theory, the study employs an observational method with secondary data. The results indicate that while multinational corporations do provide employment and investment opportunities, they also foster economic dependency, weaken local industries, and contribute to environmental issues. The study concludes that enhanced government regulation and support for local industries are essential for achieving sustainable development in Nigeria
