The association of gestational weight gain with carotid intima-media thickness in correlation with pregnancy outcome and placental assessment: a prospective study
To explore the relationship between gestational weight gain and carotid intima-media thickness, along with its implications for pregnancy outcomes and placental health.
Conducted a prospective study on gestational weight gain and its effects on carotid intima-media thickness.
Assessed metabolic parameters and placental findings in relation to weight gain during pregnancy.
Evaluated pregnancy outcomes to determine associations with carotid IMT.
Found a significant relationship between excessive gestational weight gain and increased carotid IMT.
Noted correlations between elevated IMT, abnormal metabolic parameters, and adverse pregnancy outcomes.
Identified abnormal placental findings linked to excessive weight gain.
Abstract
Excessive weight gain during pregnancy is associated with increased IMT of the carotid arteries that correlate with abnormal metabolic parameters, adverse pregnancy outcome and abnormal placental findings.
