Abstract In the pursuit of creating adaptable advanced electrical and electronic devices, the technological industries hold in high regard polymer dielectrics that are effectively designed for exceptional performance. Further, to develop base materials for polymeric batteries and optoelectronic applications, (PVVH/PEMA) blends filled with different weight percentages of gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) were synthesized using the solution casting method. SEM and UV/vis analyses were employed to examine the compatibility between the nanocomposite’s constituents. Optical, morphological, and dielectric properties, in addition to electrical conductivity of the synthesized samples, were prudently investigated. The increase in the concentration of Au NPs led to a shift in the dielectric loss peak to higher frequency. The present SPE samples demonstrated a non-Debye characteristic in the relaxation of ions, which was ascribed to the attenuation of the M" relaxation peak. The distinction in characteristics between the PVVH/PEMA blend and Au NPs resulted in the formation of novel interfacial areas, leading to a decrease in relaxation time from 10 –4 to 10 –6 s. Moreover, this distinction played a significant role in the formation of micro-capacitors within the PVVH/PEMA host matrix. The σ a c value has changed from 3.67 × 10 –10 S/cm for the PVPE blend sample at 24 kHz to 1.07 × 10 –7 S/cm at 20 MHz for the PVPE-Au5 sample. Further, their values have been enhanced with increasing the Au content, attaining the best finding (4.50 × 10 –6 S/cm) for the sample with 5 wt% of Au NPs at 20 MHz. The incorporation of Au NPs filler at a concentration of 5 wt% into the PVVH/PEMA host matrix yielded significant enhancements in the optical, morphological, and dielectric characteristics of the resultant nanocomposite films. This advantageous improvement suggests the utilization of the (PVVH/PEMA)/Au nanocomposites in the fabrication of optoelectronic applications and high-performance energy-storing apparatus, including lithium polymer batteries.
