The growing share of volatile renewable energy sources poses a major challenge for synchronizing industrial energy supply with production demands. Conventional energy management practices often overlook the systemic interactions between production systems, building infrastructures, and energy flows. To enable manufacturing companies to succeed within this transformation, a procedural support is needed. To achieve this support an Initial Reference Model is developed, which shows causal effects between external factors and ultimate goals for such transformations. Based on this model a procedure model is derived to maintain operational efficiency while adapting to fluctuating energy availability. This paper proposes a structured transformation process that integrates energy, production, and building systems into a cohesive framework. The process unfolds in three phases: holistic system analysis, scenario-based configuration, and guided implementation through structured change management.
