The study revealed notable variability in initial abstraction (IA) values among the three catchments, indicating that the assumption of a uniform IA is inappropriate. These findings highlight the importance of conducting a preliminary assessment of IA using available site-specific information to approximate realistic values. Overall, the results support the potential of HEC-HMS as a transferable modeling tool for ungauged basins in data-limited regions, provided that key hydrological parameters are carefully evaluated prior to application.
