Abstract The transition from a linear "take-make-waste" model to a circular "re-commerce" ecosystem. The "Re-Commerce" (reverse commerce) sector is no longer for hobbyists; in 2025, it has become a strategic imperative for global brands. This paper analyses the growth drivers of second-hand digital marketplaces across B2C (Business-to-Consumer) and B2B (Business-to-Business) sectors. We examine how Artificial Intelligence (AI) for authentication and Circular Economy business models are overcoming traditional barriers of trust and logistics. The study concludes that the re-commerce revolution is driven equally by economic necessity (affordability) and environmental consciousness among Gen Z and Millennial cohorts.
