ABSTRACT Non‐thermal plasma (NTP)‐activated ammonia decomposition for green hydrogen production at ambient temperature has garnered considerable attention. In this work, the influence of operating parameters for NH 3 decomposition was investigated through electrical characterization, kinetic analysis, and sensitivity evaluation. Compared to system input parameters (discharge power, feed flow rate, gas concentration), optimizing reactor configuration parameters (dilution gas, dielectric material, discharge gap, and high‐voltage electrode position) broke the trade‐off between NH 3 conversion and hydrogen energy efficiency. Adjusting the high‐voltage electrode position increased ammonia conversion by 25.80% and hydrogen energy efficiency of 16.40 mol (kW·h) −1 , achieving the highest performance. Sensitivity analyses identified the high‐voltage electrode position as the key parameter. This work provides practical optimization strategies for plasma‐catalytic NH 3 decomposition and a transferable optimization strategy.
